December 1, 2011 – The Oregonian – Members of the Westside Economic Alliance, built the wood-and-plastic structure as a memorial to Brody Borlaug, a 3-year-old who died from a rare immunodeficiency in June. They will install a plaque honoring Brody on the playground next week.
Brody loved his playground set, especially the swing, says his dad, Jeff Borlaug, a real estate principal with Norris, Beggs & Simpson and member of the business group. Jonathan Schlueter, executive director of the alliance, thought his group could honor Brody by giving other kids a chance to play outside.
